What they found was that, in addition to lighting savings, they saved on cooling and heating. Overall, the annual HVAC cost of their experimental building was $0.89 per square foot compared to $1.13 per square foot of the control building. That is a 21% saving! According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the average Texan household spends $128.27 per month on electricity bills alone.
